FAQ
Common questions.
PPF or ceramic coating?
PPF is a physical film that absorbs rock chips and light scratches. Ceramic is a thin coating that adds gloss and makes washing easier, but it won't stop chips. Many owners do both: PPF on the high-impact areas and ceramic over the whole car.
How long will I be without my car?
It depends on the car and the coverage. Tint, light tint and chrome deletes are often quick jobs, while full-body PPF or a full wrap takes several days. You'll get a timeline at your consultation.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, two on paint protection film. The film manufacturer covers it for up to 10 years against cracking, peeling, yellowing, fading and manufacturing defects. On top of that, GhostlyAuto warranties the installation for up to 10 years against bubbling, peeling, exposed edges, contamination and any other installer error. Wraps, tint and ceramic carry the maker's warranty for that product. You'll get the exact terms in writing before work starts.
How do I care for it afterward?
Give the film about a week before the first wash, hand wash when you can, and keep pressure washers away from film edges. You'll get full aftercare instructions at pickup.
Can a wrap come off later?
Yes. Quality vinyl and color PPF can be removed from healthy factory paint, which is why many owners wrap instead of repainting.
